AT last got something!

Warning: require_once(/home/asheslea/www/moodle) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Success in /home/asheslea/public_html/moodle/xerte/config.php on line 59

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/asheslea/www/moodle' (include_path='/home/asheslea/public_html/moodle/lib/pear:.:/usr/local/php52/pear') in /home/asheslea/public_html/moodle/xerte/config.php on line 59

Thanks - the path is OK so any clues?

If you get nothing back, its likely the error is either in config or session.php

just put some echo statements in around these files and see how far it gets.

Sorry, I've just re-read your original message and you're plainly trying
to install Xerte on Moodle, so the advice on scripting and hosting is
likely useless. However, a local installation might be worth a bash
anyway, as if you can get it working there but not online you and the
Moodle admin have a working installation to refer to in order to help
diagnose the online installation failure.
