Get the latest build - the sound icon has 'eraseOnReset' - set it to 0
to prevent content being erased when reset is called.

 

Does that do it?

I can't answer for everyone, but it is akin to the 'do not erase' option
of a synched icon attached to a sound icon in Authorware.

 

What we are trying to do is leave the last graphic on screen that is in
a sequence of synched graphics rather than it be erased....

 

I didn't think it should be so difficult L  

 

We have a work around, as Paul intimated, but it does mean that we have
to open every mp3 in SoundBooth to get it's exact length and then use
that figure in the template to set up a dummy page at the end so we can
pause the playback before the sound finishes totally.  We want to set up
the template so anyone can use it without knowing how to use audio
editing software though.

 

Is a do 'not erase' option possible for a synched page?

Is this a situation that everyone would benefit from or is this
something specific to your own design?

 

I'm struggling to see why it is useful to stay on the last page - but
you can probably enlighten me. If it's because the last page says 'now
click the button to move on', then it would be better to use the
onSoundComplete event to display the message.

 

I don't know what you're trying to do...?

If I used the onSoundComplete event it would remove the last image and
then redisplay it, therefore it flickering off and then on. The fix I
have is working but it means measuring every sound file and getting the
last few seconds of it. Bit of a pain over a lot of pages :-s

Can't you just use an onSoundComplete event to throw up the image when
the audio clip finishes? Or is that what Paul is already doing?

I'm struggling with the design principle. Pages are synched to playback.
The slider is at 0. Why would I want to see graphics associated with a
different point in time?

 

I'm struggling with the code, as reset happens in many different ways.
The synching stuff is a bit tricky (didn't we work through a heap of
issues together a while back?)

It needs to  just keep the last image on the screen after the sound has
finished playing, not show the first. 

 

Could we have a sound icon property which does reset audio, 1 or 0.
Would that work?

What would you like to happen?

 

Specify an image that is shown whilst the sound is at 0 / reset?

 

Show the first image...?

 

Prevent the sound resetting at the end?

Hi everyone, 

 

I've posted a few times about having the last synch'd page off a sound
icon remain on screen. There is a hack but it's a bit of a pain
especially when using the templates system. Are there any plans to look
into this for a fix?
