I did a full install. By the way: where is the difference?
Also: the login form Username allows only 12 characters. In my institution
we use forename.lastname, though 12 characters is little to less for most
of the people. Is maxlength important for this field?

Peter

Did you install it using the xampp option on the first page? That will set
it up with one click, on a fresh xampp install. Pat can advise if you
needed a full install...

Hi Julian, hi List,

I tried to install toolkits on my local xampp. The first three pages of
the setup are OK. But on the fourth side all mysql queries failed due to
"No database selected".
I'm sure I entered the data in page 1 and page 2 correct (both root, as
I'm on my test system). I can't see any additional mysql settings on page
3. Also the database IS created, I see it in my list of databases in
phpmyadmin. But the sitedetails get not written to the database, due to
the above mentioned errors.
I'm on Mac, tried Firefox 3 and Safari.

Thanks,

Peter

The Xerte Project has reached a major milestone with the release of
Xerte Online Toolkits v1.0.

Toolkits v1.0 brings a range of new features to the browser-based
version of our authoring tools, allowing users to easily collaborate in
the development of learning materials.

Authors will find an improved interface and a number of workflow
enhancements, a wider choice of page templates, much improved support
for RSS publishing and open courseware syndication, additional
accessibility controls and better support for collaboration. Content is
more readily shared, reused and repurposed through the ability to export
and import projects.

Developers will find a more easily portable and customisable
application, and find it easier to extend the existing templates and
develop new ones, and the ability to share toolkits data with other
applications, and integrate toolkits with other systems.

System adminstrators will find an improved installer, support for
windows servers, and a management interface for day-to-day
administrative tasks.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed throughout the beta
programme.
