[Xerte] FLV / Movie - Synchronisation

You can even encode audio that way (should you wish to do so) and create an
flv with just an audio track with cue points specified in it that fire
events....It's a bit hit and miss though to find the right place to set up
the events as you normally do it 'visually' in the flash video encoder by
scrubbing to the correct place in the video before specifying the cue point,
which is therefore absent when you are just encoding the audio.

yep.

We are using the Flash Video Encoder and the cue points we specify there are
picked up fine.

We are encoding the video to flv anyway from uncompressed avi, so we are
adding the cue points when we do that.

But the AS method is good to know.

Cheers

you can add cue point with actionscript, and then trap the events.

Set up the movie icon;
give it an ID
id.addASCuePoint(seconds, name);

then use an event handler to get the event

icon is the id;
eventName is the name you used in addASCuePoint

See how you get on. addASCuePoint doesn't necessarily add the cue point at
exactly the point you specify - I think it goes on the nearest keyframe, so
it depends to an extent on how you encode the video. For real accuracy I
think you have to add the cue point with the video encoder. The events
should then still fire I think.

Or do I need to use cue points?

Is it not possible to synchronise on an FLV in the same way as a sound?
