The media browser option to resize etc. has never worked on our install for me - I always get a 'Unable to resize error' whenever I confirm my changes.
Pixlr looks great though.

D'you know what, I was just looking for the right place to link through to pixlr, and saw that! I had a feeling it might be on that toolbar.

I was wondering whether to link from the workspace (resources panel, bottom right), or from the editor workflow somewhere.

Not discounting Pixlr but keep in mind that authors can resize (throw away pixels), crop and rotate images via our media browser!

Or is that another one of those like the drag and drop upload that you don't know what you don't know? ;-)

Yeah, I like it too. Doing some of the basic stuff like cropping, resizing, etc is challenging for some people, unless they have some graphics software installed most of the native windows graphics tools don't allow for this sort of thing so it would be great to provide these sort of tools in the browser. The only caveat I suppose is that it's Flash Player and we're aiming for a flash-less world, but I don't think that should stop us looking into it,

Hi all,

We use Pixlr in all the workshops. I would be nice if it's linked or integrated in Xerte!

We use the editor because it 's like photoshop. You can work with layers.

This looks like a very useful too and has an API for use in your own

applications: might be worth at least linking to it from Xerte, if not integrating it a bit more fully:

https://apps.pixlr.com/developer/api/

and you can see the editors in action at

www.pixlr.com/editor<http://www.pixlr.com/editor<http://www.pixlr.com/editor%3chttp:/www.pixlr.com/editor>>

www.pixlr.com/express<http://www.pixlr.com/express<http://www.pixlr.com/express%3chttp:/www.pixlr.com/express>>

The express one is ideal for what a lot of people need to do: cropping, scaling, basic fixes,

Perhaps something to talk about on Friday,

Julian
