Present perspectives based on institutional experience, learn from the experience of others, exchange ideas, develop dialogue, and form new partnerships ? Develop an understanding of multiple areas of the academic enterprise by looking beyond immediate interests and appreciating both commonalities and differences ? Organize institutional, community-wide, or project-based discussions and collaborative work This year, we are offering a peer reviewed research track. We are hoping this will both encourage greater participation from faculty as well as enable us to produce more detailed online proceedings that will profile the research-oriented work we do in the community. DEADLINE AND REVIEW The Early Bird and Research Track proposal deadlines are October 24 and the final proposal deadline is November 28, 2016. The program committee will review and accept submissions during the open submission period. Early Bird Proposals entered by October 24 will be eligible for early review decisions by November 18. From: Neal Caidin [mailto:neal.caidin at apereo.org] Sent: 06 October 2016 13:49 To: Apereo Announcements Subject: [apereo-announcements] Caliper and xAPI Together - Analytics Webinar Wednesday 19th October, noon US Eastern [1]. Apereo will host a webinar examining two critical standards in learning analytics space - xAPI, and IMSGlobal Caliper. The presenters will be Aaron Silver, from DISC, the organisation tasked with xAPI interoperability and conformance (http://datainteroperability.org/ ), and Anthony Whyte of the University of Michigan, who has been centrally involved in recent IMS Caliper developments. If you have any interest in this area - which is emerging as a major area of activity for Apereo - please attend. The drive to deliver education at scale coupled with a demand for accountability backed by measurability has spurred the application of ?big data? principles to the business of education. Opportunities to tap new data sources have grown as both the learning technology ecosystem has expanded and the definition of what constitutes learning has evolved beyond the formal classroom experience to include informal, social and experiential modes of acquiring knowledge and skills. The challenges implicit | inherent in describing, collecting and exchanging learner activity data originating from such diverse sources are formidable. In response, two learning technology specifications, ADL?s xAPI and IMS Global?s Caliper Analytics, now offer standardized approaches that aim to address the data and semantic interoperability issues inherent in the blending | sharing of learning data between systems. For both communities, early work has focused on developing a RESTful architecture for mediating machine-to-machine data exchange and grappling with the challenge of defining an information model and controlled vocabularies that leverage semantic web principles and practices. Join Aaron Silvers and Anthony Whyte for a lively discussion of the current state and possible futures of both xAPI and Caliper. The webinar will be hosted in Big Blue Button (thanks to Blindside Networks!) - http://apereo.blindsidenetworks.net/ Select ?Room 1? from the drop down, enter your name and the password ?apereo?. The committee expects to have all proposals reviewed and final acceptances by December 16. Please note that you may login and edit/review this proposal only through the cutoff date of November 28, 2016. We look forward to your proposal! I know we already have the tooltips you can add to optional properties and the info tags you can add to individual pages but neither of these are quite right for what I need. Ideally I'd like a way of giving more info about how to use an optional property but it would be too detailed for the tooltip. I'll look into adding something if it doesn't already exist - I was thinking of a help/more info icon after the property name once it's been added to a project that would show the info when clicked. Deelnemen is gratis echter vooraf inschrijven is verplicht!
