[Xerte-dev] stripping code?

Hi all I added this to the Trello board but thought I should post here too.

I know the emphasis is always on ease of use for anyone but I'm a bit
worried about the new editor stripping code and breaking previous projects
and wondering what the options are?

Here's an example:

Alistair and I have been continuing some previous HEA/TechDis work
delivering webinars and support material using Xerte. I use Font Awesome
quite a lot in various LO's including some we have created for this work.
Here's a direct link to an example and a page containing FA Icons/code:
http://accessiblepractice.org/v/xerte/play_961#resume=3

There are lots of pages in that LO containing similar FA icons/code and the
trouble is the minute any title or page content is changed using the new
editor those FA icons are stripped out.

Here's a test LO:
http://training.mitchellmedia.co.uk/xot/play.php?template_id=48 which
contains the following in both the title and text fields:

<i class="icon-camera-retro icon-2x"></i> Introduction to photography

Playing that works at the moment but if I add any text to the title or text
fields the <i class="icon-camera-retro icon-2x"></i> is removed.

This is just a simple example and arguably the benefits of the new editor
far outweigh the ability to use Font Awesome. However ideally it should be
possible and obviously there's other use of code and html etc in lots of
existing projects that currently will also be stripped like this.

Is there any way around this other than not editing those pages/projects in
the new editor?

Ron
