I tried the same with adding <script> tags and they didn't work, just got some console error... Do you see any console error with <style> tags?

I assumed it was stripslashes or something that but haven't had a chance to look into it any further...

Subject: [Xerte-dev] <style>

Does anyone know why <style> tags don't work in HTML5 playback? It's not important, but the recent discussion on tree view menus lead me to try a css only treeview, but the styles didn't take, even though the html was rendered. Simple example would be:

<style>
p {
  font-size:20px;
}
</style>

<div id="divID"><p>Hello</p></div>

Pasted into a plain text page.
