[Xerte-dev] Thumbnail image sizes have doubled... should we roll these back?

Hi,

Sorry for all the emails recently, I've had a load of these things on a list to look at and just clearing them while I can...

Anyway, I've been looking at differences between trunk/v2 in case we've missed any important bug fixes and noticed that the thumbnail images sizes have changed significantly for some reason (see attached screenshot). Now I know it's only 5-6kb each but there are a lot of them to come down and there doesn't appear to be any notable change in dimensions/quality so wondering why that is and whether we should just roll these back to save the 300+kb of download and bandwidth?

Or, should we just bite the bullet and update these to the HTML5 views for v2.1?

Do you have a date in mind for this Julian as i'd like to get a few things done before then but not sure of the time i'll have over holidays...
