Message-ID: <51FA464D.9060204@tor.nl> John, Could it be that you pushed the trunk upload.php to 2.0 and forgot to add tools/moovrelocator to 2.0? I had an HTTP error when trying to upload a .mp4 (Chrome reported an error 500 on the post). It turned out that: a. I didn't have tools/moovrelocator in my installation b. When I installed it by hand, Moovrelocator couldn't find atom/Atom.php because of some path manipulations for a require_once. It replaces the $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] with an empty string. That results in an invalid file name being required. After I fixed that, things seem to work again. I didn't have time whether the file is pseudo streaming yet. So, should I push tools/moovrelocator to 2.0 or shall we remove it from upload.php? It seems that we get a lot of people saying "It says it uploaded ok, but it won't preview" or similar and wondered if we can do things better in the wizard... anyway, we get no feedback in AS2 from the uploader as to whether it was successful or not BUT we do have file_exists.php Anyway, have changed my install to use this code (at around line 2600 in the wizard.fla file) listener.onComplete = function(file:FileReference):Void { var file_exists_result_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); file_exists_result_lv.progWin = this.progWin; file_exists_result_lv.onLoad = function(success:Boolean) { if (success) { if (file_exists_result_lv.return_value=="true"){ Alert.show("Upload successful"); button.files = file.name; button.fileUploaded(button); } else { Alert.show("Upload failed: Check permissions"); } this.progWin.deletePopUp(); } } var file_exists_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); file_exists_lv.file_name = _root.rlovariable + file.name; file_exists_lv.sendAndLoad(_root.preview_path, file_exists_result_lv, "POST"); }; So after a success it tests with file_exists.php to see if the file is actually there... the messages could be made international (there are lots of English messages still hardwired in here though) but other than that it works... Can you give it a quick test and commit if you are happy with it as it's another level of useful feedback for the user... The moov section should be BEFORE the mdat section in the tree (see the screenshot) otherwise the MP4 must download first. Also, Tom, I've tried the moovrelocator with a few mp4s that I had that have the moov at the end and it did indeed relocate the moov to the start and the file was still playable so it looks like it could be a good addition. The moov is fine... it plays fine downloaded in VLC... but it is the biggest of them all. If you look at the attached Word doc then you will see that for every slide change, MediaElements makes 4 requests to get each mp4 (not really sure why it makes 2 pairs of requests). I assume the first is a HEAD request (although Chrome says it's a GET) to find out whether the server accepts ranges and to get the size... then it makes a Range Request and gets a 206 Partial back... Also, the video is responding as application/octet-stream and not video/mp4 Looking at your phpinfo (you need to rename or remove your setup folder) file you also have gzip and deflate turned on for that server. I think these are interfering with the MP4 and the Partial requests. Can you fix the mime types and see if that makes a difference and if not then try turning either/both of gzip/deflate off for mp4s and see if that makes a difference? I can't find any gzip or deflate in the server. mod_deflate and mod_gzip are NOT installed for apache, so the content is not compressed. 2. I fixed the mime-type (you REALLY have to clear your local cache.. :-) ) As far as I can tell, the correct sizes are displayed for the movies, and they are marked as video/mp4 now. However, it still doesn't work.... Not in Chrome. I didn't test IE before the mime-type change, but after the change at least, it seems to work a lot better in IE10 on WS7 64bit. Also, it looks like media-elements is falling back to flash in Chrome, because flash player plug-in seems to cause the lock-up. I assume the first is a HEAD request (although Chrome says it's a GET) to find out whether the server accepts ranges and to get the size... then it makes a Range Request and gets a 206 Partial back... Also, the video is responding as application/octet-stream and not video/mp4 > > Looking at your phpinfo (you need to rename or remove your setup folder) file you also have gzip and deflate turned on for that server.
