Just seems the wrong way around. Let's get this done and when we communicate about it we can also set up the ideas capture stuff as well,

I am thinking it does two things

* This change has been sort of done without the list, so it might be a
bit odd to have not asked for ideas / suggestions
* So if we say we've made a new version, and now are looking for
feedback for the next version, it looks more "community"
* and we have to tell the list 1.8 is almost done at some point
