Just so I'm clear, the mail you posted before about the language options not showing, is because of the use of the info tag?

Sorry I'm having a hard time keeping up with all these issues, especially the big one.

<info>Here is the help</info>

Is the correct format.

Does that still break it?

Subject: [Xerte-dev] Use of the <info> tag and correct syntax

I posted earlier of some display issues in the xwd form of some of the Connector pages.

I have now established that the problem lies with the use of the <info> tag.
When an <info> tag is included in an xwd the last few entries in the xwd form fail to display, space is left for them and the mouse pointer responds to their presence but the form just displays as a grey block. I have attached an image file to show you the output that results.

The problem caused by the <info> tag was hidden at first as the Language section is collapsed by default, so the none-display of attribute fields only showed when the Language check box was ticked. However the language attribute feature is not part of the problem as the same effect can be achieved in a page that has no attributes flagged as language="true".

Am I using the correct syntax for the <info> tag?

I have tried all of the following but they all result in the disappearance of fields.

In the Xerte help there is an example

  <info image="assets/screenshot.jpg">Here is some help<info>
In an example that Ron sent to me he used the syntax below (which is the one currently used in the xwd files)

<info>Help for plain text connector. Click here</info>

I have also tried the syntax copied from the title page

<info><info name="Enter Page Title" size="30">Enter title here</info></info>

and the syntax

<info>some text</info>

I have also tried placing the <info> tag above the <newNodes> section and below the <newNodes> section.

Options.
1. If anyone can give me the correct syntax for the Info tag then I will try it out - but I am not convinced that incorrect syntax is the problem.
2. If the problem is in the code that process the xwd file - can it be fixed in time for the release?
3. If the problem cannot be resolved in time for the next XOT release which would you prefer a) remove all the info tags and lose the linking to the help files on the Xerte.org.uk<http://Xerte.org.uk> web site. b)leave the info tags in place, knowing that this will temporarily prevent editing of some of the language attributes - which probably would be left with their default values anyway, in the belief that the problem can be resolved by a subsequent fix applied to the code that processes the xwd files.
Kind regards

Johnathan
