It also looks a bit like Platycheirus muelleri. However, almost nothing is known about this species. It is described by Marcuzzi in 1941 with only a poor description (see attachment). He does not mention where the type is. It might be Trento. Does anybody know where to find that type? Does anybody have more useful information about this species? Differences between that species and muelleri are unclear. Taxonomy of this group is waiting to be resolved. I have some additional Iberian specimens, in case you'd like to get your hands dirty...
