I wonder if it would be helpful if the basic characteristics were shared 
so that we can check museum collections?

I will be at the NHM several times this week and could go through its 
collection to see how the split works in their specimens.

Presumably there will be a call for material for DNA analysis - this 
makes me realise that I should have retained a lot of specimens of what 
is a pretty common species - I just hope the split is easy!
