In a nutshell this call aims to stimulate international mobility and the attraction of researchers from abroad. The call implements a fellowship scheme for highly qualified non EU researchers (i.e. postdoctoral level or equivalent experience), granting them an opportunity to work during 6 to 18 months in a Belgian research team. The call for proposals 2014 is now open and the deadline for application is 30 April 2014 at 17:00 hour. The target countries are those countries with which Belgian Research Institutions wish to strengthen cooperation and for which not sufficient alternatives are available. However, are not considered: EU Member States and countries associated to the 7th Framework Program or HORIZON. The latter two categories comprise Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Qatar, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, USA, Australia, Canada, Kuwait, Taiwan, Japan, Bahamas, South Korea, New Zealand, Bahrain, Oman, Seychelles, Barbados, and Saudi Arabia. Please consult the attached file from information on the call and for more qualifications required to be eligible (point 2 of the document). If you, or anyone you know, would be interested to submit a grant proposal on, or related to, the morphological and molecular taxonomy of African Syrphidae, I would be happy to hear from her/him. The work will be conducted at the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren, Belgium. The grant proposal will have to imply taxonomic work, both molecular and morphological, and can either be general, or focused on a specific genus or species complex. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions!
