[Syrphidae] Possible MRR experiment on Episyrphus?????

Just on the off-chance.....
Has anybody been marking Episyrphus balteatus with what appears to be white
paint? If so I may have one of them (female marked on right wing tip caught
in St Albans, UK on 1st August). I suppose it could have perhaps marked
itself by landing on some freshly painted surface (no paint on legs etc
though) and I cant imagine why anybody would be willing to undertake a study
on such an abundant and mobile species, but just in case.......
