Dear Joris,

Cheilosia himantopus is known, published, from the following European =
countries: Bulgaria, Germany, France, Italy, former Yugoslavia, Sweden =
and Switserland (Stuke & Claussen, 2000, Volucella 5: 79-94). I =
published it just last year new for Holland, mentioning three specimens =
from Belgium (Smit, Reemer & Renema, 200, Ned. faun. Meded. 15: =
123-139).
In holland it is an infrequent species, not really rare.

Best wishes,

John
