Dear friends,
Finally my book "Vegetation and flower visiting insects in cultivated =
landscapes" just appeared. It is a complete description of the results =
of a 10-year research project of the Federal Agency for Nature =
Conservation describing vegetation, flowering phenology and Diptera, =
Syrphidae and Conopidae. More than 60.000 observations on Syrphidae, =
detailed data on flower-visiting, habitat-preferences, spatial and =
temporal habitat use and methods for landscape evaluation and collecting =
are described. 174 Syrphid species could be recorded from the =
Drachenfelser L=E4ndchen south of Bonn (Germany) and the regional =
checklist of the area includes now 181 species.
