across the board. This has meant that the amount available to fund research group activity remains unchanged from 25/26.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#212121">Please note, the discretionary School budget to fund research publications is no longer available. This means research groups should prioritise A9 spend on REF
returnable publications, if it is not possible to link publications to research grants and thereby exploit UKRI block funding. Due to the relatively small amounts of funding available, groups should not split their allocations down to individual members but
manage the available funds to maximise the REF return for the group as a whole. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

on an extremely cautious financial footing and decisions about budgets and spend may be impacted by changes imposed on the School during this financial year meaning we must exercise caution in the distribution of funds.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
