[Public-engagement] URGENT - PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITY - Festival UK 2022

Dear all – with apologies for the short notice (we have only just been alerted to the opportunity), please see below information about a major call for “jaw-dropping public engagement acts on a global scale” for the “Festival UK 2022”.  These are funded opportunities, and there is a lot of cash available (£100k for 30 ideas selected for development, more for the 10 selected for production).

The timescale, however, is eye-watering.  There is a live Q and A on the morning of the 29th, and bids need to be in by 16 October.   More details can be found on the website here https://www.festival2022.uk/

The website and the email below is all the information I have so PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE WITH QUESTIONS as I won’t be able to answer them!

However if you are interested in pulling together a bid please let Maria and I know.

Good afternoon,

You may have seen this in the press recently though wanted to share with you for info. as it may be of interest to you and or the businesses and networks you work with.

Festival UK* 2022 is inviting Creative Teams (made up of organisations and individuals from across the STEAM sectors) to apply to take part in a paid R&D project to create compelling, ambitious and jaw-dropping public engagement acts on a global-scale. The deadline for submission of applications is 3pm BST Friday 16 October. The R&D project will take place between November 2020 and January 2021. Up to 10 Creative Teams, selected from the 30 teams participating in the R&D project, will be shortlisted to have their idea taken into full commission and be part of the Festival UK* 2022 public project which will be launched in autumn 2021.
