Universities for Nottingham is a pioneering collaboration between the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, that aims to combine the strengths and civic missions of the two institutions to help drive prosperity and opportunity across our local area. There will be plenty of opportunity for colleagues across the University to get engaged with the initiative. It is being led by the Global and Political Affairs Unit in External Relations who are working with us at the Institute for Policy and Engagement to consider the best way to do this in terms of research impact and public engagement. There will be a series of roadshows over the next few months to talk more about it ? and potentially establish a UoN internal network for those interested in the civic agenda. But for now, if you?re interested in learning more about UfN ? you can get in touch with amy.williams at nottingham.ac.uk. It's nearly a year since the Institute held its internal launch. We've done a lot in that time, but we want to make sure that what we do in the future is even better. To help us achieve that, we're working with an external partner to conduct a detailed study of what academic and APM staff at the University think about the work we do and how we do it, what works and what doesn't, and what else you'd like to see us doing. This is a golden opportunity for you to shape our services to ensure that we can help you achieve your policy impact and public engagement goals. We're looking for volunteers to take part in a short (around 30 minutes) interview with our external partners, by phone or Skype. Interviews will take place in February and March, at a time convenient to you. We're looking for honest feedback, so you will have the option to remain anonymous if you wish. We're also looking to hear from staff who haven't engaged with the Institute yet - so if you know colleagues whose work is perfect for policy or public engagement work but who haven't worked with us, please do pass this on to them. If you are interested in taking part, and are happy for us to share your contact details with our external partners, please can you let me know by 14 February? Your contact details will be used ONLY for the purpose of conducting this study and will not be shared further. If you have any questions about this, please contact Chris Sims on chris.sims at nottingham.ac.uk. Thank you to all of you who responded. We are still in need of more volunteers to spare a little time for this important project. We place enormous importance on responding to what you need, so if there's any way you can give us half an hour of your time, please let us know by the end of this week - we'll be truly grateful. Volunteers will only need to be available for a short interview (around 30 minutes) with our external partners, by phone or Skype, sometime in February or March. You will have the option to remain anonymous. As I mentioned in my previous email, if you have colleagues whose work might be appropriate for our support but who have not previously engaged with us, we'd love for them to take part also. Please feel free to pass my message on as you think appropriate. If you have any concerns or questions about this piece of work, please contact Chris Sims on chris.sims at nottingham.ac.uk.
