We have many such examples across the University, and we would love to see some of them make Wellcome's list. For more details, take a look at https://wellcome.ac.uk/what-we-do/our-work/public-engagement/25-trailblazers-let-us-celebrate-your-public-engagement-project/ If you have a project that might consider submitting, please let me know by email at rachael.pearson at nottingham.ac.uk - we're in the process of collating some case studies of our own, and it would be great to hear about more of the public engagement you are involved in. With best wishes, Rachael From: Public Engagement Network > On Behalf Of Chloe Sheppard Sent: 16 October 2019 08:14 To: NCCPE-PEN at JISCMAIL.AC.UK Subject: Wellcome is searching for 25 trailblazers Dear colleagues, I hope you?re well. Wellcome is currently looking for case studies to illustrate and celebrate what outcomes-focussed public engagement looks like in practice, and need your help to find them. We have recently launched a search for 25 trailblazing examples of public engagement across the globe, big and small, from any discipline or sector. Researchers often ask us for concrete examples of outcomes-focussed public engagement, so we want to find and publish 25 tangible examples to support and inspire them to do public engagement that makes a difference to the way research is carried out or its impact on society. We are keen for science and health researchers to learn from one another, but also from how people in other disciplines and sectors have engaged the public with their work in an outcomes-focussed way. Those chosen as the ?top 25? will be published and showcased within the research community to inspire researchers to do public engagement that makes a difference. The deadline for submissions is 8th November 2019. There are two ways that you can get involved: 1. Pass this on to your network. Can you think of anyone in your network/your researchers who has done great outcomes-focussed public engagement? If they fit the criteria described on the webpage, we?d really appreciate it if you could send them the link to the search, so that they can submit their example before the deadline on 8th November. 2. Support the search. Finding a diversity of great examples relies on word-of-mouth, so we really need your help! To enable the search to reach as many people as possible you can: * Follow our Twitter and Linkedin pages * Tweet or post the link to our webpage - be sure to tag @Engagement25! We have written a template Tweet to make this easy for you, scroll down the webpage to find it * Tell us about great examples of impactful public engagement, @-ing @Engagement25 and using the hashtag #EngagementTop25 on Twitter and Linkedin Thank you!
