It?s a public engagement event aimed at showcasing LGBT+ researchers. It?s part of UoN?s LGBT+ History Month events as well as being part of the Festival of Science & Curiosity, and we?ve got some great volunteers from UoN on the line-up. I?d really appreciate any help in spreading the word across any external facing networks. Where the event has run previously, there?s typically a good number of staff & students who attend because of the context of the event, so please feel free to share details internally too. Not really a public engagement event, but another addition to the internal LGBT+ History Month programme is this informal lecture next Wednesday 20th Feb, which may be of interest to some. https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/home/featureevents/2019/queer-in-stem-why-lgbt-diversity-matters.aspx Thanks, Matt Matthew Young BBSRC DTP PhD Researcher in Neuroscience Coordinator, STEM-ON Trustee, Pride in STEM Pronouns: He/Him D61, Medical School Queen?s Medical Centre University of Nottingam Nottingham NG7 2RD t: +44 (0)7825604556 | w: nottingham.ac.uk [signature_1235781187] [signature_259912126] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The festival encourages interactive forms of public engagement, incorporating public lectures, performance, displays, guided tours, music events, panel discussions, demonstrations, workshops and any other form of engagement. In 2018 'Our Many Points of Connections', the festival offering of our university, was the largest Being Human programme in the Midlands and attracted an audience of more than 300 people across 11 events. The festival will return in 2019 between the 14 and 23 November and will explore the theme 'Discoveries & Secrets'. If you are interested in taking part, please submit a 300-400 word description of the proposed event to Hannah Roberts (bbahr at exmail.nottingham.ac.uk) by 21st February including a short activity description, indication of the target audience, nature of the research used, type of venue sought, or ideas for a venue and if possible an early indication of the costs. The events should: * Demonstrate aspects of humanities research in ways that are entertaining and accessible for non-specialist audiences * Have direct involvement from a humanities researcher in delivering the event * Be held during the festival dates * Take place in a venue outside the university campus Best wishes, Anna [cid:image003.jpg at 01D4C554.710F4D60] Dr Anna Walas REF and Impact Officer (Arts) Centre for Advanced Studies/Faculty of Arts University of Nottingham Highfield House, B06 University Park Nottingham, NG7 2RD +44 (0) 115 95 13054| nottingham.ac.uk [cid:image001.jpg at 01D454DB.B1A664B0] Follow us Facebook.com/TheUniofNottingham Twitter.com/UniofNottingham Youtube.com/nottmuniversity Instagram.com/uniofnottingham Linkedin.com/company/university-of-nottingham -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
