From Clare.Anderton at nottingham.ac.uk Thu Jul 12 13:31:49 2018 From: Clare.Anderton at nottingham.ac.uk (Clare Anderton) Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2018 12:31:49 +0000 Subject: [Public-engagement] University branded marquees and Run for all 2019 Message-ID: Dear all I may have been in touch with some of you already regarding this. However I am looking into ordering marquees (number dependent on size and cost) for general University use, branded and appropriate for us to share for various events. How these will be stored and shared is yet to be decided. However I have discovered that between a few teams we seem to already have a few 3 x 3 style gazebos and 8 x 6 x 3 size marquees and the star shelter which is 21.85 x 13.85 that Lakeside own. I am therefore looking at ordering some in house larger marquees, open days size approximately 15 x 25 m and maybe a couple more smaller 3 x 3 gazebo style to cover overlap of events potentially. Unless anyone has any specific requests for marquee specs which they think will be widely used across the University I will continue to seek quotes along these lines. If you could let me know by next week if you have any preference that would be great. Another item I just wanted to bring to your attention is a 5 mile run taking place on Campus - June 9th 2019. This will be managed by 'Run for all' the Jane Tomlinson charity and bearing in mind the huge plethora of activity taking place across campus at this time of year this was the date we plumped for. However this date may now not be suitable for Run for all, we are waiting on further notification. We are hoping they can stick with this date as dates in and around this aren't the best for various reasons. If you have any information concerning any other events that will have bearing on this please drop me a line. Many thanks Clare Clare Anderton Event Manager Campaign and Alumni Relations Office University of Nottingham Room A2, Pope Building University Park Nottingham, NG7 2RD +44 (0) 115 951 3296 | clare.anderton at nottingham.ac.uk [cid:image001.jpg at 01D4146F.D86D3CB0] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It aims to increase the participants capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Competitors are allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props. We are looking for academic members of staff with an interest in (and understanding of) public engagement. The winner of the Tri-Campus 3MT will go on to represent Nottingham at the U21 competition. There are various regional and National competitions too, and Nottingham students have had considerable success in these over the last few years, so the presentations should be good - it's not an arduous task! We are looking for 3-4 judges from each Campus, judging would take place online via moodle so shouldn't take up too much time, I would think no more than 15-20 minutes to watch and score three entries. If you are able to take part, please could you email Shineen Dewil at graduate-school at nottingham.ac.uk Many thanks, Rachael Dr Rachael Pearson Researcher Training and Development Manager The Graduate School Part of Research and Innovation University of Nottingham A19, Highfield House University Park Nottingham, NG7 2RD +44 (0) 115 84 67243 | nottingham.ac.uk/graduateschool [1520939346377_PastedImage] Follow us Facebook.com/UoNGraduateSchool Twitter.com/UoNgradschool Instagram.com/uongradschool Youtube.com/UoNGraduateSchool -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... As we only need 4 from the UK campuses, we're now trying to ensure a balance of backgrounds. Shineen will be in touch with everyone who has replied soon. Thanks again everybody. We really appreciate your support.
