Hi all,

This week's session will take place on Friday at 11 in B37 in Psychology.

Craig French will be giving a talk on 'The Philosophical Problem of Perception'. Craig is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy who specialises in the philosophy of mind and psychology.

Abstract: I introduce the philosophical problem of perception, a problem created by the phenomena of perceptual illusion and hallucination: if these kinds of error are possible, how can perceptual experience be what we ordinarily understand it to be, an openness to the mind-independent world? I then ask some questions and make some observations about how the psychology of perception may (or may not) be able to help with our philosophical conundrum.

Come join the philosophical debate, it would be great to see as many of you there as possible!

Thank you,
Chloe and Eleonore
