I hope you are well and have had a lovely summer so far! I'm just getting in touch because I am currently doing an internship with IntoUniversity, an educational charity targeting children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Every academic year they run a Primary Focus Week where primary school children attend the centre and focus on a particular topic for the week. This year they are running a topic on light and eyes; the University is usually asked to get involved and run engaging academic sessions for the children. The visual neuroscience group at Nottingham were involved in 2014 and we were just wondering if you and/ or anyone else in the research group would like to get involved again this year? The dates would be the week beginning 26th September and the week beginning 31st October (same programme repeated) and usually the academic input is the Tuesday morning, 10am-12pm (which would be 27th September and 1st November). Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or if you would like more information! Pete, who is the Partnerships manager for the Widening Participation Team at the University, is also happy to help to meet and plan with you and/ or any of the team. I have attached a plan for the session ran in 2014 so you can get a better idea of what is involved.

Not something I can help with on those dates.
Zahra, Jonathan and I ran two outreach events last year with IntoUniversity.
If anyone in the vision group would like to help this year I can pass on the materials we used.
We all enjoyed it and so did the pupils. Good cause.
