Hi

I've been using flisti.com which is somewhat limited but does allow polls from any device that has web access so we only need wifi.  It's not exactly secure as anyone can access the poll if they have the code but it's useful for quick in class polls.  I'm hoping that the ResponseWare option is going to be available as a viable alternative.

There is also participoll: http://www.participoll.com/. The company has given the university of Leicester staff acccess to the Pro version free for a year. I haven't tried it myself, but hope to do so in the near future and it looks very user friendly from the brief look that I've had at it so far.

Hi Matt,
It will be interesting to compare the features.
The Google forms approach certainly has its limitations! But it does make for a very simple system. (And it is free, of course!) I do pretty much just want to be able to imitate the keypads without having to hand out keypads, so I expect ResponseWare will also do exactly what I want.

Thanks for the heads up on this. At the recent space and technologies conference I did the session on KeePAD and had some very useful discussions with turningpoint about their BYOD version "ResponseWare" The university are currently looking at the licensing arrangements for this and it may be available in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

I have been looking at various in-class response systems recently, as a possible improvement on my current coloured card multiple choice voting system.
I liked the simplicity of socrative, but it appears that socrative may not be safe if you have more than 50 students in your class.
I have now found a solution using Google forms that looks to be simple and workable.
