[Metal] Teaching in Synchronous online spaces / Using Adobe Connect with Students

There are still a few places available on an online course "Teaching in Synchronous online spaces / Using Adobe Connect with Students".
The real time elements of the course are as follows:
Live session schedule
Monday 14th January 12-1.30 pm
Thursday 17th January 12-1.30 pm
Monday 28th  12-1.30 pm
Thursday 31st January 12-1.30 pm
The aims of the course:

 By the end of this course you will be able to

 *   Participate comfortably in a synchronous online environment
 *   Plan a session in Adobe Connect (or other synchronous space) for teaching and learning purposes
 *   Understand and use the Adobe Connect tools and software

The training will take place in Adobe Connect (4 one-hour sessions) backed up by Moodle and will be restricted to a maximum of 20 participants.

Schedule

Session 1 - introduction to Adobe Connect
- technical issues, tools and buttons - troubleshooting - different ways of using it e.g., for tutorials, 'lectures', meetings, tutorial videos, virtual office hours, guest speakers

Session 2 - example session on running sessions with students
- facilitating learning in synchronous online spaces - case studies, examples, top tips, models and best practice - participants will work in small groups to create a 10 minute session - using a suggested topic or a topic of their own choosing

Gap (allowing time to prepare session)

Session 3 - first set of student presentations, feedback

Session 4 - second set of student presentations, feedback, summing up, troubleshooting
