Mostly from people who have known Alan for years but some from people who only knew him by repute. </span></font></blockquote><div><br></div>I asked people because I knew Alan had been unwell but I had not seen him for some time. And after all, I only live 10 minutes from him. </div><div><div><br></div><div>I saw Alan today and chatted for a couple of hours. <span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; ">Alan was quite perky. He is 83 after all! But generally he seemed ok. Still very interested in people and maths ed. But he does not get about as much as he used to since he has now sold his car.
