Numeracy Test Administrators required for casual work between October and December 2017 The University of Nottingham is independently evaluating Catch Up? Numeracy, an intervention that supports children experiencing difficulty with numeracy. The intervention involves teaching assistants providing children with a one to one support. Results from the intervention are to be compared with results from 'control' schools. Included in the results will be pupils' scores on a post-project Mathematics test. Between October and December 2017, a number of Test Administrators will be required to visit schools involved in the project to administer the test (GL Assessment Progress Test in Mathematics) to the pupils. There are 150 schools throughout England involved in this important project. The University of Nottingham is now recruiting the Test Administrators throughout England to administer the test in schools within their locality. Job Description * In order to administer the Mathematics test to a group of up to 12 primary-aged pupils, visit at least 10 schools, * Ensure pupils independently complete the test. The test will take at most 70 minutes. * Collect and record unique pupil identification information and other demographic data to ensure that the correct pupils are tested. * Keep the pupil test papers safe and return them to the University of Nottingham on completion. * The school visits should take no longer than 2 hours (not including travel time). * The schedule for school visits will be pre-planned but negotiable. The work is on a casual basis and payment will include travel time and travel expenses. Payment will be on the basis of ?16 per hour for the Northern regions (Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Derbyshire) and ?17 per hour for the Southern regions (Lincolnshire, Peterborough and London). The mileage allowance is 45p per mile. Person Specification Requirements * Applicants must be able to provide evidence of having undergone a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check * Applicants must have experience of working in or with schools or primary-aged children. * Applicants must provide evidence of their right to work in the UK by means of their passport and/or visa. * Applicants must treat all information about the schools and their pupils as confidential. * Applicants must have their own car, valid driving licence and car insurance in order to carry out the testing in their allocated schools.
