Principal Lecturer in Primary Mathematics Education

Salary Scale: Academic 13
Salary: £43,861 to £50,846 

The Mathematics Centre, University of Chichester, specialises in research,
scholarship and consultancy in Mathematics Education. This post provides a
creative opportunity to contribute to the Centre’s work and help to maintain its
position nationally and internationally as one of the University’s strategic
priorities.
Applicants will have a strong background in both academic and professional
leadership in primary mathematics and will be able to demonstrate significant
engagement with development projects, consultancy, teaching, publications and
scholarship to support the raising of achievement in mathematics for young
people and teaching professionals.

This post is based in the Mathematics Centre which has a national and
international profile of working with pupils, teachers, schools, communities,
Local Authorities and external agencies focusing on raising achievement in
mathematics. It requires the post holder to work on in-service activities and
postgraduate awards, consultancy, and externally funded projects offered by the
Centre. An integral aspect will be the role and impact of new technologies
within mathematics education.

The role holder will be expected to make a full and active contribution to the
range of activities that ensure quality teaching, learning, research and
consultancy within the diverse provision offered by the Mathematics Centre and,
where appropriate by other departments within the University. With a strong
background in both academic and professional leadership in Primary Mathematics
Education, the post holder will demonstrate significant engagement with
developments to support the raising of achievement in mathematics for young
people and teaching professionals.
