LKL has a fixed-term vacancy for a maths education researcher. For

MiGen (Intelligent Support for Mathematical Generalisation) is a £1.2
million  project funded by the EPSRC/ESRC under the Teaching and Learning
Research Programme.  The project aims to design, build and evaluate a
pedagogical and technical environment for improving 11-14 year old students'
learning of mathematical generalisation.

You will play a vital support role in the project's educational objectives,
reporting to the project directors.  You will assist in the design of
activity sequences, data collection and analysis, liaising with schools,
designing and analysing evaluations, and writing project reports and papers.

You will have a familiarity with the potential of computers for learning
mathematics, in the area of mathematical or scientific education. You will
have a first degree with a substantial mathematical component, and have
completed, or be in the final stages of completing, a higher degree in the
area of mathematics education, or a field that is cognate to mathematics
education.  The ability to work in a team and write clearly and concisely in
academic English will also be essential for this role.  You must be willing
and able to work in an interdisciplinary environment that involves computer
scientists, learning theorists, teachers and teacher-educators.
