[Maths-Education] FW: Sad news about Leone Burton

I have been asked to pass round to colleagues the very sad news that
Leone Burton, well known to many in maths education, died early Sunday
morning. She had been ill for quite a while, but in her final few days
lots of people from the mathematics education community were able to
visit her.
No announcement of funeral arrangements has yet been made.
I am sure there are very many people who have fond memories of Leone and
a great deal can be written of her compassion and dedication to
children's mathematical development over many years as a teacher and a
researcher.
