The 5th International Conference on mathematics Education and Society

 

Albufeira (Algarve), Portugal, 16 - 21 February 2008

 

Following previous conferences that took place in Nottingham (UK, 1998), Montechoro (Portugal, 2000), Helsingør (Denmark, 2002) and Gold Coast (Australia, 2004), we are now pleased to announce the 5th Mathematics Education and Society Conference (MES5).

 

MES5 will be held at Albufeira (Portugal) from the 16 to 21 February 2008. The conference is organized collaboratively by colleagues at the Centre for Research in Education of the University of Lisbon <http://cie.fc.ul.pt>  (Portugal), University of Algarve <http://www.ualg.pt>  (Portugal), Department of Education, Learning and Philosophy <http://www.learning.aau.dk>  at Aalborg University (Denmark) and the Faculty of Education <http://www.education.uts.edu.au>  at University of Technology Sydney (Australia).

MES5 Conference aims at bringing together mathematics educators from around the world to provide such a forum, as well as to offer a platform on which to build future collaborative activity. It is expected that topics discussed will be wide-ranging. It is also expected that all issues will have clear and underpinning social/political/cultural/ethical themes.

Symposia, papers and project presentations are invited for submission. All submissions will be peer reviewed. A critical evaluation suggesting possible revisions and recommending its acceptance will be provided to authors. Papers should meet the aims of the conference. The deadline for submission is November 1, 2007.

 

The registration deadline is the 31st of December 2007.
