NCETM Research and Development Pathfinders

The NCETM intends to fund Development and Research Pathfinder Groups. The aim of these groups is to carry out development and research work into an aspect of the professional development of teachers. This work should be conducted in a Collaborative Practice environment, where the teachers involved plan, observe and reflect on lessons together. The groups should consist of one institution with research expertise and five or six schools or colleges. Funding of up to £25000 is available for each group.

The NCETM will be funding 12 projects in 2 phases. The first 6 projects will run from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2007. The projects in the first phase will focus on enabling teachers to make effective use of ICT.

Each research project should identify a theme within the general focus of enabling teachers to make effective use of ICT.
