Dear all (with apologies for cross posting)

The TTA have funded a number of induction events for tutors who are new to
ITE. Professional associations in mathematics (MA, ATM, BSRLM, AMET) were
successful in a bid to develop and run the induction event for mathematics
and to develop a range of support materials that will gradually become
available. The materials are now available online at www.itemaths.org.uk

The next induction event for secondary mathematics will be on Friday 9th
September, 10:30 to 4:00, in Birmingham. This event will be suitable for
new and relatively new full- or part-time tutors and will take place
alongside the annual AMET conference. The event will be led by experienced
secondary mathematics education tutors and will also provide opportunities
for participants to meet other colleagues and work with them. There will be
no charge to course delegates, and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Travel expenses will also be paid.

New tutors are also invited to stay for Saturday 10th September for the
second day of the two-day AMET conference. Those attending the induction
event will be able to attend for the Saturday of the AMET conference for no
additional cost.

In order to book a place (or places) on the induction event please contact
Ros Hyde roshyde at msn.com Tel: 023 8051 0229 by 20th July giving full
contact details for potential delegates. Details about the course and venue
will be sent out during the week commencing 15th August.

Yours sincerely,

Ros Hyde & Sue Pope
