Dear (especially, but not exclusively, UK) Colleagues,

Could I draw to your attention two vacancies for lectureships in
mathematics education (primary ) here at St Martin's College, UK, on our
Carlisle campus?

The two posts will both involve the teaching of primary mathematics
education courses, primarily to trainee teachers on postgraduate and
undergraduate courses, together with associated student recruitment,
support, assessment and administrative duties. A first degree and Qualified
Teacher Status are essential. Experience of working with children at both
key stages in primary schools is also a requirement, as is experience of
working with the National Numeracy Strategy. Experience of coordinating
mathematics at Key Stage One/Two is desirable. A higher degree or a
willingness to undertake further study is also desirable. In addition, one
of the posts will also require the teaching of mathematics education to
undergraduate subject specialists. Either post would be suitable for a
teacher educator experienced in HE or for a person wishing to make their
first move from school teaching into higher education.

The posts will be advertised in the TES on Friday 16 May 2003. Further
details of the posts can be obtained from the college personnel department
