just advertised for a Lecturer in Primary Mathematics Education.

This new post arises from the continued expansion of the highly successful=

Primary PGCE programme at the University of Southampton. The post provides=

a great opportunity to be involved in a high-quality primary PGCE course at=
=20
a leading institution of Higher Education with a good record of work in=20
mathematics education.

The deadline for applications is 3 May 2002.
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing either 13 or 20 May 2002.

Post 01D603 - Lecturer in Primary Mathematics Education

Department: Research and Graduate School of Education

Salary: in the range =A325,455 - =A332,537 per annum on Lecturer Grade B

Job Brief: This new post arises as the result of the continued expansion of=
=20
the highly successful Primary PGCE programme at the University of=20
Southampton. The main teaching duties are contributing to the teaching of=20
the mathematics education components of the post-graduate primary initial=20
teacher education course (the primary PGCE).

Applicants must have recent successful teaching experience in mathematics=20
in the primary phase and/or experience of initial teacher education as a=20
mentor/tutor in school or in higher education. Appointment to the lecturer=
=20
scale requires experience in or a willingness to engage in research in=20
mathematics education.

The deadline for applications is 3 May 2002.
Interviews to be held weeks commencing 13 or 20 May 2002.

Work in Mathematics Education at the University of Southampton has had a=20

Mathematics Project was established by the University of Southampton in=20
1962 as one of the first major mathematics curriculum development projects.
