DEAKINUNIVERSITY

Faculty of Education

School of Scientific and Developmental Studies in Education

The School of Scientific and Developmental Studies in Education is 
one of two schools within the Faculty of Education. The Faculty is a 
leading provider of pre-service, postgraduate, higher degree by 
research and professional development programs.  Courses are offered 
to on-campus students in Melbourne (Burwood), Geelong and Warrnambool 
and to off-campus students throughout Australia and overseas.

The School has a number of positions available for well-qualified, 
innovative and enthusiastic staff who can contribute to its teaching, 
research and professional development programs. Applicants should 
possess a relevant Doctorate or substantial progress towards 
completion or have equivalent experience, and be able to contribute 
to undergraduate and postgraduate programs, undertake doctoral 
supervision, and make a strong contribution to research and 
development. Applicants should also have recent teaching or other 
substantial experience in schools.

All positions advertised are full-time and continuing, commencing in 
February 2003.

Lecturer in Education
Science and Mathematics Education - Academic Level B
Ref.  No. G02/198- Geelong  and Warrnambool Campuses

The successful applicant will teach in science and mathematics 
education, and preferably also in technology education.   Applicants 
must have a strong background in science and mathematics, preferably 
including tertiary qualifications in the area and experience in 
primary science or mathematics education. The ability to contribute 
to the education studies major would be an advantage. The successful 
applicant will be based at Geelong and will also contribute to 
teaching in the Warrnambool program.

Lecturer in Education
Education Studies - Academic Level B.
Ref.  No. M02/199- Melbourne (Burwood) Campus

The successful applicant will be required to teach in the education 
studies major and appropriate masters units.  Applicants must have 
expertise in at least one of the key areas that inform the field of 
education such as psychology, sociology, cultural studies, 
professional ethics. Familiarity with flexible learning and teaching 
strategies, particularly in an online environment, is desirable.

Lecturer in Education
Mathematics Education OR Mathematics and Science Education  - Academic Level B 
(up to two position)
Ref.  No. M02/200  - Melbourne (Burwood) Campus

The successful applicant will teach in mathematics education. The 
ability to teach in science or information technology education is 
desirable. Applicants must have a strong background in mathematics 
and preferably also in science or information technology. Tertiary 
qualifications in mathematics are desirable, as is a strong 
background in primary education.

The salary range for all Level B positions is $52,635 -$62,502  p. a.
(plus 17% superannuation)
