The Second Annual Institute of Mathematics Pedagogy will be held at the
University of Oxford Department of Educational Studies from the 1st to 4th
August 2002. This will be run by John Mason (Open University) and Anne
Watson (Oxford University).

The First Institute was attended by teachers, educators, advisers and
researchers from UK, Portugal and Jamaica! There was an intensive mixture
of mathematics, readings (some from outside maths ed), activities and
discussions, food and outings. We expect the Second to be similar - an
opportunity to engage deeply with others on issues to do with the teaching
and learning of mathematics. There will be no academic papers sought or
presented.

Enquirers should get in touch with t.a.johns@open.ac.uk. Places will be
limited.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Anne W. and John M.
