We are seeking the assistance of mathematics education academics worldwide.

The Centre for Studies in Mathematics, Science and Environmental
Education at Deakin University is completing "A mapping, review and
analysis of Australian research in numeracy learning at the primary
school level". The project is funded by the Australian Commonwealth
Government's Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs.

The purpose of the project is to provide information on key
Australian research over the last decade in the area of numeracy
teaching and learning, with a focus on the primary school level, and
to review this in the international research context, in order to
inform Australian teaching and learning programs and further research
to enhance students' numeracy outcomes.

The project will result in a Written Report and a Pocket Guide with
CD. The CD will contain details of relevant
a) Australian and
b) International
projects and published articles.

More details are available from the website:
http://education.deakin.edu.au/Resources/maths_ed/detya_num/index.html

We are currently collating details about research in primary numeracy
education - using a broad approach to "numeracy".

Could you please:

a)	LOOK at the website;

b)	LOOK THROUGH YOUR CV from 1990 to now to see if there are any
relevant projects or publications that would contribute to the data
base and to our writing of the report;

c)	USE THE "HELP US" button on the website to find out how
useful information is to be sent to us;

d)	SEND US THE INFORMATION; and

e)	FORWARD THIS EMAIL message to colleagues or professional
networks that may be able to provide further information about
relevant projects and publications.
