[Maths-Education] Recruitment and Retention

We are on exactly the same numbers as last year, with an uncomfortably
large last minute flurry of new graduates.  The training salary certainly
does not seem to be attracting first choice candidates (but, no, we never
thought it would).
Other subjects are doing much better here.  Could it be that only the
maths candidates can work out how much the salary is really worth to them?
