I'd strongly encourage astronomers to let the STFC Astronomy Advisory Panel (rather than the Particle Physics Advisory Panel) know their views on Astronomy grant funding potentially being moved to EPSRC. The AAP have a contact form:

This is potentially really important. In many ways the easiest thing for UKRI to do concerning the STFC grant funding debacle is remove PPAN from the STFC remit, and move it into EPSRC. We will then be in a much bigger pool competing against established EPSRC
areas which includes all of condensed matter physics and mathematics for example. It will certainly change the funding profile for our field, as not only will we be able to bid for resources the other areas have access to, but they will be able to bid for
PPAN resources - and they are much bigger than we are. PPAN fund all the particle and astronomy grants. </div>
