This is potentially really important. In many ways the easiest thing for UKRI to do concerning the STFC grant funding debacle is remove PPAN from the STFC remit, and move it into EPSRC. We will then be in a much bigger pool competing against established EPSRC
areas which includes all of condensed matter physics and mathematics for example. It will certainly change the funding profile for our field, as not only will we be able to bid for resources the other areas have access to, but they will be able to bid for
PPAN resources - and they are much bigger than we are. PPAN fund all the particle and astronomy grants. </div>

So, for those of you, especially you younger ones, interested in staying in the field, I would urge you to have a think and complete the form. It says particle physics, but it has to be true for astronomy as well.</div>
