Abstract: Over the past 2 years there has been an explosion in the number of people researching intracluster light (ICL), within our department. In this talk I will explain how much of the ICL research done in our department
fits together to answer a single question: can ICL be used to shed light on the nature of dark matter? I will show how ICL can probe the shape, kinematics and profile of dark matter halos, and how these measurements give insight into dark matter.
